International Cornhole competition

Velenje, Slovenia!

Greetings to all Cornhole enthusiasts in Europe and abroad! We are announcing an open international Cornhole championship with three categories: singles, doubles, and seniors (60 and above). The tournament will be held on March 16 and 17, 2024 in Velenje, Slovenia. Velenje is the town of Gorenje, the largest manufacturer of appliances in this part of Europe. Velenje also boasts one of the best competitive handball teams in Slovenia along with excellent ski jumping facilities right in the heart of the city. Link: https://www.velenje.si/en/ 

Players from Europe and abroad will compete in a Round Robin on Saturday. Doubles competition and a special seniors competition will be held on Sunday. All competitions begin with a Round Robin or depending on the number of competitors, potentially the Swiss method. The competition will be dedicated to the categories of singles, doubles, and seniors. The official distance will be 823 cm.

COMPETITORS’ EQUIPMENT: Standardized bags of size between 14.5 and 15 cm, weight between 430 and 460 grams, and maximum flattened thickness of 3.6 cm, of any manufacturer.

REGISTRATION: All registrations can be made through the Scoreholio application under the title Slovenian Open International (Category) / VELENJE for men and women – singles on Saturday (9 am), doubles on Sunday (9 am), and seniors on Sunday (12 pm). AWARDS: Cup for all first place winners in each category and medals and prizes for all three top places in each category. Each participant will receive a small gift package.

FEES: Singles competition = 20 €; Doubles competition = 30 €; Seniors competition = 10 €.

FOOD: Basic food and drink items will be available in the hall and near the hall (hot dogs, sandwiches, and other popular items). It is not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages onto the court.
